The time has come for our going away party. We do not leave until Sunday the 7th but this was the only time that everyone had free time for our party. It is sunny all day so it looks like it is going to be a great day for a party! 4pm rolls around we have to be down the gatehouse for the party at 5pm dark clouds start to roll in really!! I hope they just pass and it does not rain.
We get in the car at 4:45pm drive down the mountain and about 1 mile down the skies open and it starts to pour you could not even see in front of you it was so bad. We continue and it stops raining about another mile Todd stops in the road and says look. You can see where it is raining 3 feet in front of us and we are not in the rain. I have never seen the definite line between me and rain before it was pretty awesome but sucks because we are having a party. drove about 500 feet in the down pour and it stops raining so for a stretch of only 500 feet it was pouring kinda crazy.
Mean while down at the gatehouse it was only drizzling so as the party started to get together the clouds turned into blue skies :-) Burger’s and hot dogs on the grill with all the toppings. Jackie made what Todd said was some of the best potato salad. Me being one of the pickiest eater’s you have ever met, Jackie made me promise to try her potato salad to Todd’s surprise I tried it and I loved it!!!! I was warned that not all potato salad tastes this fantastic so I need beware. We sat around and ate then Edie went inside and brought out dessert, ice cream, angel food cake and all the toppings to make an awesome sundae!! I popped a dairy pill and dug in as everyone else did.
The end of the party myself Jackie and Edie started cleaning up everyone else sat around and talked. The only thing that could of made this going away party better was if Bob and Snookie were here they left yesterday. Party is over now up to the trailer to start packing and organizing slowly hoping for no more rain until we leave but I know that has a 10% chance of happening.
