We went into town for a cigar for Todd because he was having a craving. When we started to head back up the mountain we see that Dairy King, a little restaurant is open. Most of the time when we drive by it is not open so we figured we better try it while we can.
The outside give the impression of an old diner from the 60’s it is so cute! When you walk in the door it is smaller then it looks from the outside.
The furniture was not well kept the cushions on the chairs were all ripped up looked like a dog just chewed it up. We get the menu’s, for this size place the menu is perfect small but a lot of choices. The people that we have talked to raved about their burgers. Of course Todd ordered the jalapeño burger, me loving pulled pork I ordered that and we ordered a large fry to share. The food comes out steaming hot it looks like it is going to taste good so we dig in.
The jalapeño burger had shredded lettuce, Shredded cheese, pickled Jalapeños, tomatoes, onion’s, pickles and mustard. The burger was made with fresh ground beef on a sesame seed bun. Overall it was a good diner style burger.
The pulled pork was good the BBQ sauce was delicious it was on a sesame seed bun. It was bigger then your average pulled pork sandwich.
The large fry was more then we could eat I think we could have gotten a small fry to share and we would have been good.
The place also sells milkshakes, ice cream cones and sundae’s we did not try any of it because we were stuffed from the dinner but, people ordered ice cream while we were there and it looked really good.
Overall our dining experience was great the people were very friendly but, make sure you have cash when you go because they do not accept credit/debit cards. We would go back again next time hopefully we are not to stuffed to try the ice cream and milkshakes.
