LAST DAY OF TRAVEL DAY#4

Up early again and woo hoo lets do a dance it is the last day of travel for this trip we are so ready to get there. On the road dogs are asleep and we are just so excited.

Trucking along and we are just wondering how long it will be until we actually reach South Dakota. about 5 hours into our trip because of pee stops for the dogs finally we hit SOUTH DAKOTA lets do our happy dance this will be home for the summer. We always do a happy dance when we reach our home state lol..

At this point the truck is not happy at all I can see why this area is called the Black Hills Holy hills batman. wishing and hoping that we will make it up all these hills. The truck loses speed and the flashers go on. I guess we will not be leaving SD without a bigger truck :-(

One hill really stuck it to us we made it 3/4 of the way up and you guessed it we overheated. We stopped and pulled over it was overheating so bad that it was boiling. I had grass and the dogs needed to stretch so while we were waiting for the truck to cool her engine me and the dogs took walks one by one. It was the hottest day this month in SD not really good for pulling up big hills. At least where we were stopped was going up the side of a mountain lol so we had a decent breeze. 30 minutes or so later the truck is cooled and we are ready to hit the road again creeping up the mountain with the flashers on hoping and wishing to just make it the last 47 miles we had!!

it took us 1 hour 30 minutes to go 47 miles up hills because the truck was not happy BUT WE MADE IT!!!!!!!! We hopped out of the truck we went in and introduced ourselves and they said "you finally made it" and we could not have been happier big blue made it and we promise to never make her pull again well atleast with us she wont. we Will have to have another truck before we leave I do not think she could take another trip. So I guess the update on weather she could pull our new rig the answer is YES but not happily.

We get escorted to our spot had a very fun time backing in you have to get the spot just right in order to be able to open the slide and have enough room to get out of our door. pictures will be posted and you will see what I mean. Now we are in and we are just so relieved. All I can say was this was the most eventful trip we have had. Hello Crooked Creek Resort!!!! home for the next 4 months and it is so beautiful here!!!

Travel Day #3 Hopefully Better Then #2

7 am bright and early again fingers crossed for a better travel day then yesterday!!! gassed up and rolling down the road. We got past were we had the blow out yesterday so I guess that is the good sign. Great weather again still have not had a drop of rain and could not be happier.

Dogs and hyper this morning it took a good 2 hours for them to relax and go back to sleep. It is funny no matter we were go it always seems like we are going up.... I thought Kansas was flat LMAO boy was I fooled. Our little truck with the new rig def does not like rolling hills she is working extra hard.

We are not Kansas anymore!!!! hello Nebraska and it does not look like you are any flatter then Kansas Damn...... Trucking along and still no blow out haha I think it's safe to say we just had old tires.

around 3pm I think both Todd and I decided that we were done driving for the day.

North Platte,NE Holiday RV park and campground it is. All leveled out dogs and happy on their bed and we are happy campers for the night no blow out and a great travel day could not ask for anything else.

Hot as He!! outside and we see a pool everyone is content we get our bathing suits on and hello pool. very refreshing and relaxing. OH DAMN just dyed my hair pink hahah and the chlorine is not being friendly oh well this pool feels awesome i'll just keep my head out of the water :-)

After a dip we decide that dinner is in order. On our way we find a cool free museum called Fort Cody Trading Post and free museum. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/10519 a very cool place if you are passing by you should check it out and the RV park is a great stay as well.. Dinner now that is a different story Penny's Diner is a really cute place but please stay away the food is not that great and for the money and portions are very small but the staff was really friendly.

Home to sleep and great ready for the last leg of the travel day #4 remember it was only supposed to take us 2 days lol.. damn tires :-)

Travel Day #2 on our way to Hill City,SD

7 am early in the morning and we are on the road I think this is the earliest we have ever gotten on the road woo hooo. Dogs are happy, cat in happy, we stop and get gas and off another beautiful day and still not weather and we could not be happier we have traveling in rain etc.

BOOM......ugh oh no guess what!!! we have another blow out AHHHHHHH. So the tire still have air in it but not tread on it luckily we did not get but 9 miles from the campground that we stayed at last night. We got off the highway and we limped on a bald tire on the back roads back to the campground were you guessed it we are spending another night and why must you ask??? it's Sunday and no place to buy tires that has the tires we need. Travel day #2 was a BUST literally lol.. The up side to this it was a good thing we did not travel today I was a cranky Biotch and was not feeling it. We are level again Todd has the tire off for when we can go get the tire.

I did some calling around after we settled in and much to my surprise Wal-mart had our tires we bought 2 one for the blow out and one for the spare and boy did we take a hit $300.00 OUCH... Atleast we have tires now and we will be back on the road in the AM now time to relax and get some rest for Travel day #3 hopefully it turns out much better then #2
